Why we Loved Staying at Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter

If you’re looking for a Walt Disney World resort that’s full of charm, convenience, and a bit of Southern magic Port Orleans – French Quarter might be the perfect fit! We recently stayed here and absolutely loved it.

First Stop: Beignets!

The moment we arrived, we had to make our first stop at the Scat Cat’s Club Café for their famous Mickey-shaped beignets. Warm, fluffy, and covered in powdered sugar—YUM! It’s such a fun (and delicious) way to kick off your stay.

A Cozy, Walkable Resort

One of the biggest perks of this resort is its size. French Quarter is one of the smallest resorts at Walt Disney World, which means everything is close by-your room, the main building, pool, food court, and bus stop are all just a short walk away. After long days at the parks, that convenience really matters!

Dining & Refillable Mugs

We enjoyed the quick service dining at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory. The menu had great variety, and it was easy to grab a bite before heading out to the parks. Since everything is centrally located, it was also super convenient to fill and refill our resort mugs each time we passed through.

Pool, Arcade & Rest-Day Fun

French Quarter has a colorful, Mardi Gras Themed pool  with a fun serpent slide and splash area that kids will love. There’s also an arcade, a charming little gift shop, and plenty of activities to enjoy during a rest day. From movie nights under the stars and painting activities, there’s something for everyone.

Final Thoughts

We truly loved our stay at Port Orleans – French Quarter. It’s peaceful, beautifully themed, and has just the right amount of fun and relaxation. Whether you’re planning your first Disney trip or your tenth, this resort is a great option to consider!
