Our Stay at All-Star Sports: January 2025
In January of 2025, we spent three nights at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, and it was a great value for a short Disney getaway.
We had stayed at an All-Star Resort about 15 years ago, and we were impressed by how much things have improved since then. The old rooms had two full-size beds, which weren’t ideal for adults used to a king-sized bed. Now, with two queen beds, including one that folds down as a Murphy bed, the room feels much more comfortable and spacious.
When the Murphy bed is folded up, the room opens up nicely — giving you more space to move around. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully organized, with:
Hooks and cubbies for keeping everyone’s gear tidy
A mini fridge cabinet that’s perfect for snacks and uses vertical space well
Plenty of USB charging ports
Under-bed storage for suitcases — which makes unpacking and keeping the room clutter-free so much easier

Three Things We Loved
Proximity to the Other All-Star Resorts The All-Star Resorts are all connected, so it’s a short walk to check out the over-the-top theming at All-Star Music and Movies. It's like getting a bonus resort tour!
Single Bus Stop Convenience Unlike moderate resorts that have multiple internal bus stops, All-Star Sports has just one central bus stop, so you head straight to the parks — no extra pickups!
The PriceWe got a great deal in January, and for the cost, the value is unbeatable when compared to off-property hotels or even higher-tier Disney resorts.
A Few Downsides
No Pool Slides: Like all value resorts, All-Star Sports does not have pool slides. If that's a must-have for your family, you'll need to look at a moderate or deluxe resort. During our visit, it was unseasonably cold in Florida, and the pools were actully closed. So that did not effect our stay.
Noise Levels: A college cheerleading competition was happening during our stay, and one group returned around 2:00 AM from a private event. The walls aren’t soundproof, so we definitely recommend bringing a white noise machine to help with sleep if you're a light sleeper.
Is It as Luxurious as the Polynesian?
Of course not — the All-Star Resorts don’t have the tropical ambiance, monorail access, or signature dining that deluxe resorts like the Polynesian Village Resort offer. But the tradeoff is the significantly lower cost, and for families who plan to spend most of their time in the parks, All-Star Sports delivers solid value, comfort, and Disney magic at a fraction of the price.
Final Verdict:
Is it as Luxurious as the Polynesian? We would absolutely stay here again. It’s clean, convenient, and full of Disney energy. For the price point and perks, we’d pick All-Star Sports over any off-property resort — especially when you're looking to keep your trip affordable without giving up the Disney bubble.
